Mercury in gold mining: Environmental and health problems - Live webinar in Portuguese

07.07.2015 | Lumex team took part in the 12th ICMGP, International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant

Lumex team took part in the 12th ICMGP, International Conference on Mercury as a Global Pollutant, which was held in Jeju, Korea, June 14-19, 2015.

Lumex leading experts in mercury analysis presented new advances and applications of Zeeman atomic absorption spectroscopy for the fast selective mercury determination in all media. The latest achievements were reported in the following presentations devoted to the background air mercury monitoring within GMOS (Global Mercury Observation System) project, mercury control in stack gas of smelters, mercury speciation in coal and automated monitoring of DGM (Dissolved Gaseous Mercury) in sea water:

  • GMOS Project: Long-term Air Mercury Monitoring at Listvyanka Station, Siberia
  • Direct determination of elemental and total mercury in industrial gases with a high SO2 content
  • Optimization of the mercury thermospeciation technique for coal
  • An automated device for real time DGM monitoring in deep water

Many oral lectures and poster papers were based on the data obtained with the Lumex RA-915M/+ mercury analyzers, which are world-wide recognized and are being used for research in more than 90 countries.

At Lumex booth, most recent achievements in developing Zeeman AAS instrumentation were exhibited as implemented in portable, laboratory, on-line mercury analyzers and monitors, sorbent trap toolkits.
