Within the framework of EC HydroNet Project LUMEX specialists have developed “Fluorat AE-2 mini” and "Crab" sensors for measuring the concentration of petroleum hydrocarbons dissolved in water and oil slicks on water surface. The sensors operate as part of autonomous floating robots, which provide environmental monitoring of water bodies. One of the objects of the monitoring is the water area of the Tyrrhenian Sea near the capsized Costa Concordia cruise liner. Details are available in Reuters news at: in.reuters.com
