22.05.2020 | Lumex Instruments participated in the online EGU General Assembly 2020

May, 2020. Lumex Instruments took part in the EGU General Assembly 2020 that was held in the online format for the first time due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. Our specialist made a presentation on mercury occurrence in shungite and coal.

The presentation was delivered at the session “Mercury cycling in the environment – sources, processes, impacts, and archives from local to global scales”. Total mercury and mercury thermospeciation in coal and shungite samples were determined using mercury analyzer RA-915M with PYRO-915+ attachment.

You can get acquainted with the research results on the website.

Moreover, other participants from around the world in a number of presentations reported the re results obtained with Lumex Instruments’ mercury analyzers and monitors.

The EGU General Assembly 2020 in the online format had great success. The virtual geoscience meeting gave a chance for Earth, planetary and space scientists to meet online and share their research and ideas in a wide variety of topic areas ranging from water resources, natural hazards, and climate to space and planetary science missions. During the week, there were 701 scientific sessions with 11,380 presentations and 18,036 abstracts, as well as other events like virtual live sessions, networking events, and discussions.

The session, dedicated to mercury, was first organized at the EGU General Assembly in 2018 following the decisions of the Minamata Convention. That same year Lumex Instruments’ specialists took part in the event for the first time.
