06.08.2017 | Capillary electrophoresis used for the determination of different sugars in grapevine tissues
Recently, Dr. María F. Silva and her colleagues from the Institute of Agricultural Biology of Mendoza, Argentina, have published an article dedicated to the determination of different sugars in grapevine tissues using the capillary electrophoresis (CE) system Capel-105M.
For this research scientists used a special kit for chemical sugar analysis in beverages, developed by Lumex Instruments. This is really remarkable that after some minor modification the kit could analyze such a complicated sample as plant tissues. It demonstrates very high flexibility and universality of our kit. According to the results of the research, capillary electrophoresis ensures high-resolution efficiency for the sugar analysis and requires minimal sample preparation.
With some slight modifications, the method is also applicable for the determination of these sugars in solid samples (jams, honey, etc.) The study by the representatives of the Institute of Agricultural Biology of Mendoza provided another successful demonstration of this feature.
